Description
I used to be more diplomatic when people would ask me what kind of watch they should buy. I would ask “what do you like?” and advise them to follow their heart. Now, 15+ years later, after speaking to thousands of people about watches, I just tell them to buy a Daytona.
And nothing is finer than a clean, all-original vintage Daytona like this model 6263 with sweet black “Big Red” sigma dial. This is a really nice example of a vintage Daytona and my advice is to buy it!
Original stainless steel case measures 37mm diameter by 13mm thick. Domed original plastic crystal. Original black bezel. Original screw down crown and screw down chronograph pushers. Case lugs are very thick and the bezel is very sharp, leading me to conclude that this case has perhaps never been polished. Serial number 3356XXX dates production to 1972.
Original untouched black Sigma dial with Big Red DAYTONA, applied 18k white gold hour markers and Rolex coronet, contrasting silver subdials and original 18k white gold hands. The silver subdials are bright on this dial and are approaching white in color.
Original Rolex Caliber 727 with 17 jewels and column wheel construction. Movement is pristine and running.
Rolex riveted Oyster bracelet with 12 links, with light stretch and very clean.
