Description
In 2003, the German watch retailer Wempe celebrated its 125th anniversary. Wempe's relationship with Patek Philippe is a long and fruitful one, and Patek decided to make a limited edition watch to commemorate the occasion. This Patek Philippe reference 5125 harkens back to Patek's famed and highly desirable reference 3450, which is Patek's seminal perpetual calendar. Patek collectors went bananas for this Wempe Limited Edition, and to this day this is one of Patek’s most collectable models.

Case is 18k gold with dimensions of 37mm diameter by 11mm thick. Sapphire crystal. The solid back displays "125 Jahre Wempe" and the watch's limited edition number out of the series of 125 made and "Patek Philippe".

Dial is silver with embossed golden hour markers and dauphine hands. The windows below 12 o'clock display day and month; date is in a window at 6 o'clock, while moonphase is displayed directly above. Interestingly, around the moonphase display is a 24 hour indicator. "Wempe" appears inside the 24 hour scale. The color of the letters matches the dial, and the printing is only visible thanks to the contrast in texture - very subtle and very nicely executed.

Movement is the Patek Philippe automatic caliber 315 S QA with 35 jewels and power reserve of 48 hours. Movement features a central orbital high density gold rotor for winding efficiency. Furthermore, the moonphase display utilizes an innovative and new (in 2003) gearing system to achieve a startlingly accurate moonphase display (which will deviate 24 hours over a period of 120+ years).

Watch is on a new black Patek black alligator strap with 18k gold Patek deployment buckle.

This highly desirable limited edition Patek Philippe is like new with box, papers, setting stylus, and collector’s coin.
