Description
What is it about a Rolex that makes it so nice... is it the dial? Case? We all know how well made the Oyster case is and how accurate, dependable and rugged their movements are. Still, when you look at a Rolex "in the metal" you can't help but admire it, whether you are looking at an Airking or a blingy Daytona with pave diamonds and sapphires. I am an unabashed Rolex fan, and the more I see and the more I learn about watches in general, and Rolex in particular, the more I like them.
This is a modern U series Rolex Daytona with a 40mm diameter white gold case and white dial. The solid 18k white gold case features screw down crown and chronograph pushers, all of which are operating perfectly. The dial has applied white gold arabic numerals and a 30 minute and 12 hour chronograph subdial, along with a third subdial for constant seconds.
Movement is the automatic winding Rolex Caliber 4030 which is actually a Rolex modified Zenith El Primero base caliber. If one ever needed proof that Rolex is a perfectionist, they need look no further than their use and modifications to the El Primero. The Zenith El Primero was, and is, recognized as being the best large series production chronograph caliber made. Rolex used the El Primero in their Daytona watches, but not before doing extensive upgrades and refinements.
Strap is a new high quality blue suede, which complements the watch perfectly, with steel Rolex buckle. Watch is as new.
