Description
As the market for these vintage Monacos has heated up, most markedly since the recent auction of the watch that Steve McQueen actually owned and wore, we see very few entirely original watches like this one. Many of have been put together. Certainly, this watch is in far better condition than most!
Original stainless steel square case with original all-brushed finish, domed square plastic crystal, and original signed crown and chronograph pushers. Note the location of the crown at 9 o’clock while the chronograph pushers are in their normal location on the right side of the case. Case dimensions are 38mm long not including the lugs, by 40mm wide not including the crown by 13.5mm thick.
Original grey dial with brush finish and black square chronograph totalizer subdials. Original hands. Applied hour markers. Date window at 6 o’clock. The center hands are red as are the hour markers at each 5 minute position.
Original automatic winding Heuer Caliber 11 with 17 jewels.
Only the strap is not original, although it is a new Tag Heuer strap with modern steel TAG buckle.
