Description
Ah, the beauty, simplicity and versatility of a steel Rolex with a silver dial. This model 1500 from 1970 has an unusual feature – the smooth bezel. It is THE perfect watch for every look and every season and every climate.
Original stainless steel case with smooth bezel is 35mm in diameter by 11.5mm thick with clean plastic crystal and original screw-down crown, which is operating perfectly. Case condition is excellent.
Original dial is silver with sunburst guilloche finish and applied hour markers, original hands, and date at 3 o’clock.
Movement is the automatic winding Rolex Caliber 1570 with 26 jewels. This is a C.O.S.C. Certified Chronometer. In my opinion, the Rolex Calibers 1570 (with date) and 1520 (no date) are the best-ever mass produced automatic winding calibers. These movements will run to within a few seconds a day for decades, and if properly and periodically serviced for several generations! This particular watch's movement is very clean and running.
Bracelet is Rolex heavy link Oyster 78350 with folding vintage style deployment clasp.
