Description
Here is a rare vintage Datejust, the reference 1600 with original smooth bezel. Rolex made 1,000 Datejusts with fluted bezels for every one they made with a smooth bezel back then. Just a really nice watch!
Original stainless steel case measures 36mm diameter by 11.7mm thick. Original rare smooth steel bezel. Plastic crystal. Original screw down crown operating perfectly. Serial number 1836XXX dates the watch to 1967.
Original untouched silver pie-pan dial with applied hour markers and original baton hands. Dial is mint while hands show some aging. Date at 3 o'clock.
Original automatic winding Rolex Caliber 1570 with 26 jewels and adjusted in 5 positions and to temperature. The Caliber 1570 is the most accurate large series production automatic movement, with many movements still keeping time to within one or two seconds per day after 30 years. This is a C.O.S.C. Certified Chronometer.
Original Rolex riveted Oyster bracelet with 12 links, light stretch and date code of 1 69.
Watch is in mint condition.
