Description
The Rolex Explorer II reference 1655 was the first Explorer II. It has a unique look in the history of Rolex watches, with its orange colored 24 hour second timezone hand, steel bezel with 24 hour scale, and the hands and dial on the 1655 are unique to this model.
Immaculate, gorgeous, never polished original stainless steel case measures 38mm diameter by 14mm thick. Case proudly shows off its original beveled edges and is absolutely full metal all around. The original bezel has an engraved and brush finished 24 hour scale with black numbers. Original screw down crown is operating perfectly. Plastic crystal with cyclops. Serial number 5674XXX dates production to 1978.
Original untouched black dial is in perfect condition and the luminous hour markers and hands have a light patina. Silver date wheel/date display at 3 o’clock.
Original movement is 26 jewel automatic winding Rolex caliber 1570, adjusted to five positions and temperature. This movement is a C.O.S.C. Certified Chronometer. Movement is is so clean it literally shines. Movement is running and inside case back shows two services.
Bracelet is a Rolex Oyster bracelet reference 78360 13 links and will fit up to an 8.25 inch wrist. Bracelet is tight as new.
