The coolest thing about this 3940 is the rare dial it has. White with roman numerals and a large railroad style minutes and seconds chapter and large black sword hands. The vast majority of 3940s have golden hour markers and golden hands. This white dial with black hands is significantly more legible than the normal configuration of golden hands and hour markers. The 3 o’clock subdial displays month and leap year, 6 o’clock subdial displays date and moonphase and 9 o’clock subdial displays day and 24 hour time. This 3940 dial is not only more legible and rarer, it’s also more valuable.
Movement is the Patek Philippe automatic Caliber 240 Q with 22kt winding rotor, 27 jewels, 275 individual parts, with power reserve of approximately 46 hours. The caliber is engraved with the Geneva Seal, attesting to its technical and aesthetic superiority.
Case is solid 18k gold, with dimensions of 36mm diameter by 8.5mm thick. Sapphire front and display back crystals.
Strap is Patek alligator with a 18k Patek Philippe buckle.
