Description
Talk about an exclusive watch! Limited in production to only FIVE watches, this Audemars Piguet Star Wheel Minute Repeater in John Schaeffer 18k cushion case is complete with original box and papers.
Case is solid 18k gold with dimensions of 33mm square by 40mm lug tip to lug tip by 10mm thick. Sapphire crystals front and in display back. Case finish alternatates between brushed and mirror polished. The repeater slide is located on the 9 o’clock side of the case.
The watch doesn’t have a dial exactly. Instead, AP has deployed its Star Wheel complication for timekeeping with partial skeletonizing of the dial. The term “Star Wheel” is taken from the star shaped wheel at the center of each transparent disc, each with 4 numbers on it. The hour is displayed on the wheel that traverses the minutes chapter from 10 o’clock to 2 o’clock. Background is matte silver.
Movement is the manual winding Audemars Piguet Caliber 2867 with 32 jewels, balance adjusted to heat, cold, and in 5 positions and with self-compensating balance spring. The minute repeating mechanism can be observed through the display back.
Strap is black AP alligator with 18k AP buckle.
Watch is in mint condition and complete with original AP box and papers. US Retail Price at time of manufacture was $245,000.
