Description
Rolex introduced this watch to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Submariner in 2004. Flash forward to 2014 and this version of the “green” Submariner has been out of production for five years already.
The green bezel is the most obvious difference between this and a normal 16610 Sub. However, the dial is improved as well. The 16610 LV Submariner introduced the "Maxi Dial", with larger hour markers and large hands, which was incorporated into regular Submariner production only recently in the new 116160 Submariner.
Stainless steel case is 40mm diameter by 12.8mm thick; water resistant to 300 meters; Trip-lock crown; Oyster bracelet with flip-lock clasp for added security. This watch is from ‘F’ production and the green bezel insert has the collectable “flat 4” in the ‘40’.
Movement is the Rolex workhorse automatic caliber 3135, which has literally been incrementally improved over time to the point where it may be the best watch movement extant, in terms of reliability, serviceability, and accuracy. Cerified Chronometer.
Watch is in new condition with Rolex box and booklets. Plastic is still on the case sides.
