Iconic. No word is more apt in describing an original vintage Rolex “Paul Newman” Cosmograph Daytona. It truly is a legendary and beautiful watch.
Original stainless steel case is in mint condition. Original Units per Hour bezel with scale from ‘50’ to ‘200’. Original screw down crown and round pump-style chronograph pushers. Plastic crystal. Case dimensions are 37mm diameter by 13.2mm thick. Serial number 2221XXX dates production to 1969. Inside case back is stamped ‘6239’.
Original untouched black 3 color Paul Newman (also called “Exotic”) dial with contrasting silver subdials. Crisp dial step. Original hands. Dial and hands are mint.
Original Rolex manual winding Caliber 722-1 with 17 jewels and adjusted in 3 positions. This chronograph movement features column wheel construction, and is in very clean and running condition.
Bracelet is Rolex riveted Oyster with 12 links and is clean.
