Description
There are many Rolex Daytona imitators, but the original is and always will be King of the sports watch domain. This is the most popular of all the vintage Daytonas: 6263 with Big Red dial.
Original stainless steel case measures 38mm in diameter by 14mm thick. The case and bezel edges are crisp and the watch is mint. Lugs are full metal and symmetrical and this watch has been polished minimally, if ever. Screw down chronograph pushers and screw down crown operating perfectly. Plastic crystal. Original bezel has “Units per Hour” scale from ‘50’ to ‘200’. Serial number 6043XXX dates production to 1979. Rolex Oyster heavy link bracelet.
Original untouched black “Big Red” dial with applied hour markers, silver subdials, and with “DAYTONA” printed in large red letters. Hands are original.
Original movement is the manual winding Rolex Caliber 727 with 17 jewels. This is a column wheel chronograph construction. Movement is clean and running. Chronograph resets to zero crisply and accurately.
