Description
Here is a nice all original vintage Rolex Daytona reference 6263 chronograph with Big Red dial and original box and papers. Unmistakably iconic, the Daytona is the King of Chronographs. Watches with original box and papers set are getting more rare every year. Here’s a good watch to grab now, since we just received it and it will not last.
Original stainless steel Oyster case measures 37.5mm diameter by 13.5mm thick. You just have to love the vintage domed acrylic crystal on the 6263. It imparts a totally different look from the flat sapphire crystals used in later Daytonas. The original bezel and black insert have some minor imperfections, but are overall clean with sharp edges. Units per Hour scale ranges from ‘50’ to ‘200’. Original screw down crown and chronograph pushers all work perfectly. Case is in near mint condition. Serial number 4137XXX dates the watch to 1975.
Original untouched black dial with “DAYTONA” in red letters, contrasting sunken subdials with concentric guilloche, applied hour markers with adjacent luminous dots, and original hands. This “Big Red” dial is 100% original and is in mint condition, as are the hands.
Original movement is the manual winding Rolex Caliber 727 with 17 jewels and adjusted to 3 positions. Movement is clean and running strong. Movement features column wheel construction.
Bracelet is Rolex Oyster with flip-lock clasp in mint condition.
Watch will be delivered with original box and papers.
