By far the most opulent Rolex ever, this GMT Master II 116769 has the distinction of being Rolex’s highest priced watch with the official retail price of $586,000. The watch is now discontinued and only a few were made. The watch is 18k white gold and completely encrusted in original factory diamonds. The case has 240+ stones set into it, not including the 45 baguette stones on the bezel, plus three triangular stones that form the arrow at the bezel’s 60 minute position.
The bracelet is 18k white gold and the sides and top surface of each lug have pave diamonds. The center-most area of each lug is set with baguette diamonds. Bracelet is full-length with 14 and one-half links. Invisible clasp.
There is simply no factory equivalent to this 116769 GMT Master II. This watch, also known as the “GMT Ice” is new with box and Rolex warranty card dated in late 2012.
Case is 40mm diameter by 13mm thick, with sapphire crystal. Trip lock screw down crown.
Dial is the Rolex Wave dial with pave diamonds between each wave line. Rolex intelligently chose black hands for legibility, with inlaid luminous. Luminous hour markers and date at 3 o’clock.
Movement is the automatic winding Rolex Caliber 3186 with 31 jewels, 50 hour power reserve and is a C.O.S.C. Certified Chronometer.
