Description
With the passing of the years, no metal achieves a richer beauty than gold, and no wristwatch has become more coveted than an original, untouched Paul Newman. This rare 14k model 6241 is just superb.
Original case is 14k yellow gold with dimensions of 37mm diameter by 13.5mm thick. Chronograph pushers are round pump style, and are working perfectly as is the screw down crown. Black bezel insert is original and shows some dignified aging, but nothing which detracts from its beauty. Case is in mint condition. Serial number 2084XXX dates production to 1969.
Original untouched Paul Newman dial with crisp step, black subdials and minutes/seconds chapter. Dial is in mint condition with original hands.
Original movement is the manual winding Rolex Caliber 722 with seventeen jewels and adjusted to three positions. This caliber features column wheel construction, which is acknowledged to be the superior mechanical and aesthetic approach to building a chronograph movement. The movement is clean and running.
Watch is on new, pebbled leather strap with Rolex buckle.
