Description
This watch is has EVERYTHING going for it. All of the good looks of a vintage screw down pushers Daytona, along with all of the rare characteristics that make it uber collectable. This vintage Daytona is a Grand Slam homerun.
Never polished original steel case with original bezel with sharp edge and clean black insert, screw down chronograph pushers and original crown (all working perfectly), plastic crystal and case back engraved ‘6263’. Serial number 3855XXX dates watch to circa 1972.
Original untouched “Big Eyes” dial, which means that the subdials are oversized compared to the rest of Daytona dial production. In addition, the original black subdials have mellowed in color to a Tropical Brown. Dial has applied hour markers with original and intact luminous dots and original hands. Note the “ROLEX OYSTER COSMOGRAPH” is lower on the dial than standard and the “O T SWISS T O” is above the luminous dot, which is higher than the standard placement. These are the characteristics of the RARE Big Eyes dial and this original dial is Perfect.
Rolex manual winding Caliber 727 with 17 jewels and column wheel construction is pristine and running.
New custom suede strap with Rolex buckle.
