Description
This is one of those “I can’t believe what I am holding in my hands” watches that come around only a handful of times in a collecting career. From the original untouched tropical brown honeycomb dial, to the original lightning bolt seconds hand, to the undiminished and massive original steel case… this watch will make you lose your breath at first sight.

The Milgauss, as its French name “Milgauss” tells, is highly resistant to magnetic fields (with magnetic flux density up to 1,000 gauss). The Milgauss was engineered and built for scientists and researchers working near strong magnetic fields.

Original stainless steel case with smooth bezel appears never polished, with massive proportions. Massive bezel with sharp edge, fat uniform lugs with original bevels. Domed plastic crystal. Inside case back has ‘6541’ and ‘IV 1958’ date code. Inner dust cover made from soft metal for anti-magnetic properties. Serial number 412XXX dates the watch to 1958.

Original untouched tropical brown honeycomb dial with original everything including the dauphine hands and special Milgauss lightning bolt seconds hand. Railtrack minutes chapter. Spectacular!!

Original automatic winding Rolex Caliber 1066 with 25 jewels adjusted to 5 positions and temperature. Movement is a C.O.S.C. Certified Chronometer. Movement is pristine and running.

Bracelet is a riveted Oyster with ‘74’ date code.

This is a rare opportunity to acquire one of the legendary Rolex timepieces, in a condition that warrants a place in one of Geneva’s watch museums.
