Here is a watch that makes a strong statement. Just an amazing watch and extremely rare.
Cartier was late to the large watch trend, but when they caught on, they quickly introduced several hugely popular oversized models. This 42mm diameter Pasha is one of the latest in the new generation of oversized Cartier watches, and it's spectacular. The diamond bezel is factory Cartier, which means high quality stones. Check out the huge cabochon in the crown as well -- very nice!
What surprises me most about this new generation Pasha is that Cartier stepped up and used an impressive movement. The new Cartier caliber 8000 is an automatic winding movement elaborated from a Jaeger LeCoultre base ebauch. Kudos to Cartier for using such a high quality movement!
The 18k white gold case is really nice. The Pasha model was originally designed by Louis Cartier himself for swimming, which explains the protective crown cover and water resistance to 100 feet. The crystal is sapphire, further protecting the watch from water intrusion. There are 48 large, high quality diamonds set into the bezel, which frankly looks damn nice. Finally, the cabochon in the crown is a large stone.
Dial is silver with guilloche in the center square. Hands are blued.
Bracelet is amazing: solid 18k white gold links with pave factory diamonds. Invisible closing clasp.
Watch is accompanied by Cartier box and papers.
