ROLEX 6605 DATEJUST SALMON DIAL STEEL

It is not every lifetime that you find a Rolex 6605 with original salmon dial. The Datejust is one the foundations upon which Rolex’s success is built. This reference 6605 Datejust in stainless steel is from 1957. Condition is 100% original and mint. This watch is just exquisite! Original mint condition stainless steel case measures 35mm diameter by 12mm thick. Original crisp and clean 18k white gold bezel, which is the transitional style between the reeded bezel and the later and familiar fluted bezel. Original screw down crown is operating perfectly. Plastic crystal. Interestingly, the reference 6605 was the first Datejust (and first Rolex watch, for that matter) to be delivered with the famous “Cyclops” lens built into the crystal, over the date display. Original exceedingly rare salmon color pie-pan dial with original alpha style hands and applied arrow markers with the desirable “door stop” thick markers at 6 o’clock and 9 o’clock. ‘ROLEX’ is also applied. Original automatic winding Rolex Caliber 1066 with 25 jewels, adjusted to 5 positions and temperature, and is a C.O.S.C. Certified Chronometer. Watch is on unworn black suede strap that brings out the rich color of the dial.
