Description
This watch is from the estate of Sam Simon, most famous for helping get The Simpsons television show created, launched and being involved in the show over the following years. Mr. Simon’s comedy writing went all the way back to the TV show “Taxi”. He was involved in lots of different entertainment projects as well as philanthropy. In fact, Mr. Simon had the honor of winning nine Primetime Emmy Awards. This watch was given to Mr. Simon as a gift before his untimely passing in March 2015 at the age of 59.

ProjectX is a company that modifies Rolex watches to be more purposeful while making them more stylish. For example, making all finishes matte and blackening the case to eliminate glare. Of course, black case Rolex watches are very popular as well.

The Rolex Deep Sea Sea-Dweller is truly a beast, at 43mm diameter by 18mm thick. It is the evolution of everything that Rolex has learned after 60+ years of making professional diver’s watches, and it is spectacularly impressive “in the metal”.

The ante is upped on this Deep Sea with its black case and Oyster bracelet. There aren’t many ways to make a Deep Sea better, but blackening it is just the ticket! This black Sea-Dweller has ProjectX logo on the case back as well as a personalized inscription.

Let’s face it, this watch is all about its case, which provides water resistance to an astonishing 3900 meters (12,900 feet). The bezel clicks 120 times in a complete rotation, and the bezel insert is ceramic, which Rolex calls “Cerachrome”). There is Rolex’s famous helium escape valve on the 9 o’clock case side, along with the beefy Triplock crown. The case back on a Deep Sea is made from titanium to try and keep the weight of this watch as manageable as possible.

The dial is black with applied luminous hour markers and hands and date window at 3 o’clock.

Movement is the Rolex automatic winding Caliber 3135 with 31 jewels, Parachrome Breguet balance spring, microstella regulating screws, and is a C.O.S.C. Certified Chronometer.

Bracelet is the Rolex Oyster original to the Deep Sea, also black, and with the superior new clasp system.

This watch is in near mint condition with Rolex box.
