Description
Rolex has made numerous watches with a company’s name printed on the dial for corporate awards. However, the dial on this watch is as rare as it is beautiful: the Chevrolet logo is actually engraved into the dial in a repeating pattern. There are two placards which have “ROLEX” and “DATEJUST”. Make no mistake, the fact that Rolex engraved the Chevrolet logo on the dial (versus simply print it like all of the others) and let it be the most prominent design feature on the dial speaks volumes to the respect that Rolex has for Chevrolet.
Not incidentally, this watch is in new condition. Never worn. Perfect.
Case is 18k gold with fluted bezel and sapphire crystal. Model number is 16018 and this watch was make in 1986 for Chevrolet’s 75th Anniversary. Chevrolet awarded this watch to their most productive dealers in 1986. Case measures 36mm diameter by 11.8mm thick.
Gold dial with repeating, engraved Chevrolet logo pattern and diamond hour markers with date at 3 o’clock. “ROLEX” and “DATEJUST” are printed on little gold placards.
Movement is the automatic winding Rolex Caliber 3035 with 27 jewels and adjusted to 5 positions and temperature. Movement is a C.O.S.C. Certified Chronometer.
Jubilee bracelet in solid 18k gold is full length and will fit up to a 7.75 inch wrist. New condition with zero stretch and original to the watch.
This is an important Rolex wristwatch whose importance is only overshadowed by its rare and truly beautiful dial.
