This watch is literally 99% new with hang tag with serial number along with complete Rolex box, booklets and undated warranty card set.
Ah, the Sea-Dweller. Personally, I think it’s one of the most important watches ever. It’s not rare. It’s not exclusive. It IS the product of tireless innovation on Rolex’s part, in collaboration with honest to gosh professional saturation divers who needed a watch that would not fail at great depths under great pressure. You see, even the Submariner would fail at certain depths, as the pressure that would build up inside the watch case would blow out the crystal when re-pressurization was occurring during surfacing. And that was the least of their problems… you pretty much need to know the time down under, and especially elapsed time. So, Rolex built these divers a watch just for them, that could stand up to anything… the Sea-Dweller.
The stainless steel case measures 40.5mm diameter by 14.6mm thick. The crystal is thick sapphire. The diver’s timing bezel turns counter-clockwise only, a simple system to prevent a dive from being timed incorrectly as shorter than it truly is (which could be fatal). The real story about the Sea-Dweller’s case is the helium release valve on the 9 o’clock case side, which prevents the crystal from being blown out during surfacing from deep dives.
Case is rated water resistant to 4000 feet = 1220 meters, but in truth can go much lower.
Black dial features date (with no magnifying crystal) at 3 o’clock, and luminous hour markers and hands.
Movement is the automatic winding Rolex Caliber 3135 with 31 jewels, Breguet balance spring, glucydur balance with Rolex’s proprietary microstella regulating screws. Movement is a C.O.S.C. Certified Chronometer.
Bracelet is Rolex Oyster with flip lock clasp.
