Description
Here is a mint+ condition, original solid 18k gold Rolex Submariner 1680 with the great looking top hat plastic crystal on original 18k Rolex Oyster bracelet with the early style clasp. Original and untouched “nipple” dial on this beauty is black, which in contrast with the gold is very attractive.
Original 18k gold case measures 40mm diameter by 14.5mm thick. The lugs are fat and uniform with crisp bevels and this case is in mint+ condition. Original bezel and original bezel insert are mint. Screw down Triplock crown is solid gold and is working great.
Original untouched black dial with applied golden hour markers and original hands. Date window is at 3 o’clock. The “nipple” dial was Rolex’s first sports dial for a gold watch, which takes its moniker from the rounded raised and tapering gold hour markers with luminous inset on top.
Original automatic winding Rolex Caliber 1570, one of the most accurate automatic movements ever built by any manufacturer. Maintained properly, many caliber 1570s keep time to within 1 or 2 seconds per day after 20+ years. This movement is a C.O.S.C. Certified Chronometer.
