Rolex watches such as this one with a logo are highly collectable in the marketplace. Not only is this dial special and made of Enamel, but to have a plastic crystal and quickset date in the same watch is even more rare.
Stainless steel case measures 36mm in diameter and is approx 12.5mm in thickness. This watch has a fixed steel fluted bezel also known as engine-turned and screw-down crown to protect against water intrusion. The Serial number 9888XXX dates this watch to 1987.
Dial is an original white enamel dial with ‘Samarec’ logo. Samarec was a Saudi Arabian oil refining and marketing company that was later dissolved and was purchased over by the Saudi Aramco in the early 1990’s. This dial shares similar history to that of Comex, Coca-Cola and other top companies that gifted their executives with Rolex watches. Dial features applied silver Roman numeral hour markers and date window at the 3 o’clock position.
Movement on this watch is the automatic winding Rolex Caliber 3035 with 27 jewels and adjusted in 5 positions and to temperature. This movement is a C.O.S.C. Certified Chronometer.
