Rolex has been making the Datejust now for almost seven decades and the 6105 is the most collectable model. This watch is incredibly clean and all original.
Original solid 18k gold case measures 36mm in diameter and is approx 14.3mm thick. The watch features original reeded solid gold bezel, domed plastic crystal and large screw down case back. These watches have been called both Big Bubble Back and Ovettone. The serial number 300XXX dates this watches production to 1954.
Untouched original dial with a slight golden color patina. The dial features applied golden hour markers, date window at the 3 o’clock and large original golden sword hands. A feature not often seen, this watch has the date numbers in red versus the more familiar roulette date wheel format.
Movement for this watch is the original C.O.S.C. Certified Chronometer automatic winding Rolex Caliber A296 with 18 jewels.
