This watch is THE one you have been waiting for. Highly coveted Rolex Daytona 6265, with extremely rare attributes that make this watch longed-for by almost all serious collectors. This vintage Daytona is just something you don’t come across.
Untouched original 18k gold case with original bezel showing minor fading of the numbers ‘105-140’. Watch features screw-down chronograph pushers and original crown. The crystal on this watch is plastic. Serial number 3960XXX dates production of this the watch to 1974.
Incredibly rare untouched “Big Eyes” Sigma dial, which means that the subdials are oversized compared to the rest of Daytona dials. In addition, notice the lower case Greek letter sigma on either side of the 'SWISS' indication. Watchmakers belonging to l’Association pour la Promotion Industrielle de l'Or (APRIOR) were the only ones to distinguish such dials with Sigma letters. Dial has applied gold hour markers with original and intact luminous dots and original hands. Only in 1974 did Rolex use both the Sigma and Big Eye dials on a select number of Daytona's.
Movement is the Rolex manual winding Caliber 727 with 17 jewels and column wheel construction.
This watch is on a vintage riveted Rolex Oyster bracelet in near mint condition.
