The very first of the GMT models! An extremely rare treasure. This vintage GMT, with reference 6542, has all of the most collectable characteristics combined into one brilliant example: no crown guards, gloss gilt dial with perfectly even and pleasing patina across the hour markers and hands. Clean, ALL ORIGINAL condition. Simply astonishing!
Case is stainless steel with dimensions of 38.5mm diameter by 13.4mm thick. Screw down crown is operating perfectly. Crystal is Acrylic. Original pristine unidirectional Bakelite Bezel. This watch has unbelievably high geiger counter readings. Exceedingly rare.
Original gilt gloss black chapter dial features original luminous hour markers and hands, red 24 hour hand with small arrow tip, and “roulette” two color (red and black numbers) date wheel.
The 182XXX serial number dates production to 1958.
Movement is the automatic winding Rolex Caliber 1030/1065 with 25 jewels. Movement is very clean and running strong.
