Description
The Rolex Submariner is one of the Kings of Swiss watchmaking. Because of the Submariner's commercial success, it is easy to forget that Rolex actually makes them to be professional quality diver's equipment – a "tool" or “instrument” watch in Rolex parlance. Just like how the Range Rovers in Beverly Hills seldom get driven in the jungle, it's unlikely that many solid 18k gold Submariners ever make it deeper than the deep end of a swimming pool. But that's okay; it's good to know that a Rolex can withstand whatever your arm can, and then some. No doubt, this is why the Submariner is so successful as a daily watch. You can buckle this watch on and forget about it for the next 20 years... all the while it will keep great time, look great, reflect your success in life and appreciate in value at the same time! How can you go wrong!?
This particular watch is from the discontinued reference 16618 but is still new and is complete with original Rolex box, 1990 papers and hang tag and other accessories. Even the case back sticker is still adhered and crisp!
This watch is never polished, new, 40mm in diameter. Sapphire crystal and screw down crown ensure water resistance to 300 meters. Diver's bezel turns counter-clockwise only (by design) and serves as a count-up timer, so that diver's can time and never overestimate the amount of time they have spent underwater. Bracelet is solid 18k gold Rolex Oyster with flip-lock clasp.
Original untouched blue dial with applied luminous hour markers and original hands. Date at 3 o'clock. Look at the insanely nice luminous patina on the markers!
Movement is the automatic winding Rolex Caliber 3135 with 31 jewels, free-sprung balance and is a C.O.S.C. Certified Chronometer.
Once again, this watch is new old stock and more perfect that you could ever hope it would be.
